Usk travelled to Nantyglo with a team that showed a number of enforced changes. The game started like a game of tennis, first Nantyglo scored a try and then Dan Vella replied with a try. Nantyglo scored again and this time Emlyn Jones replied with a try from out deep and he was helped by a decoy run from Sam Baker. Hooker, Dan Vella converted to give Usk a narrow lead. However, Nantyglo soon regained the lead with a converted try and went into half time 17-12 ahead.
AT half time leading scorer Emlyn Jones was withdrawn as he was suffering from double vision . Usk were soon level when Dan Vella scored his second try of the game. That was Usk's final score of the day and Nantyglo took the spoils with a converted try to win 24-17.
Usk were not helped by the referee, who seemed to back the home side and he did not give Usk anything. Tuesday sees Usk play their final game of the season against Blackwood Stars, but the result will not affect Usk's fourth place.
